KGA
Experts in inelastic and non-linear analysis.

The importance and impact of advanced analytical design is evidenced by the ability to apply code requirements to difficult and complex structural design issues, and to balance economical structural design with the appropriate detailing requirements needed for superior seismic performance. Over the years KGA’s engineers have excelled in achieving this important balance.

Inelastic Behavior and
Non-linear Dynamic Analysis

Dr. Stephen Schneider, KGA’s technical coordinator, was one of eight researchers nationwide selected to test full-scale beam-to-column joints. This test program helped develop the guidelines for the seismic design of structural steel buildings.

  Other achievements include:
Analytical investigation of the seismic behavior of steel-frame structural systems that led to the modification of building code requirements.
Analytical efforts that helped quantify and develop guidelines for the design of concrete-filled steel tubes.
