Pinnacle Lofts

Combining condominiums, retail and parking, The Pinnacle is characteristic of the mixed-use facilities in the Pearl District. The structural system is post-tensioned concrete floor slabs with slender concrete walls to resist wind and seismic forces. The building is L-shaped with one tower rising 14 stories and the other rising 7 stories. An extensive dynamic analysis was performed to consider the structural implications of tying together the two different tower elevations through the common elevator core. This saved in construction costs typically associated with a separation of towers and in the detailing of costly seismic joints.
